Rural Financial Counselling Service
The Rural Financial Counselling Service (RFCS) Central Region provides a free service to the farming community of the Bland Shire.
Rural Financial Counsellors work closely with clients to assist them resolve urgent issues and develop a plan for their future and that of their families and their enterprise. Immediate assistance can include: liaison with banks to review or renegotiate loans; farm debt mediation; submission preparation for various government assistance applications - for eligible clients; or referrals to other service providers for activities such as succession planning.
Natural Disaster Assistance
A range of assistance measures may be available to Bland Shire residents affected by a natural disaster.

For affected Bland Shire residents, applications for both primary producers and small business natural disaster loans close on 31 March 2017 while applications for natural disaster recovery grants close on 19 June 2017.
Lake Cowal Foundation Limited (LCF) is a not-for-profit Environmental Trust established in June 2000. Its primary goal is to protect and enhance Lake Cowal, a nationally significant wetland located 45 km north of West Wyalong. The Lake Cowal Foundation is primarily sponsored through a negotiated royalty from the Barrick Cowal Gold Mine, for the life of the gold project. During the operational life of the mine, payments exceeding $2 million are expected to be made to the Lake Cowal Foundation. Although largely funded by Barrick Cowal Ltd, the Foundation also attracts external funding and works with a range of other groups and organisations.
