2024 Christmas New Year Holiday Trading Hours

Bland Shire Council wishes to advise residents and visitors of changes to services and operating hours over the Christmas and New Year period.

Council Offices
The Council Offices will be closed from 3:00pm on Friday, 20 December 2024 and will reopen at 8:30am on Monday, 6 January 2025.

Library & Visitor Information Centre
The Library and Visitor Information Centre will be closed from 3:00pm on Friday, 20 December 2024 and will reopen at 10:00am on Monday, 6 January 2025.

Swimming Pools (Ungarie and Holland Park)
The Swimming Pools will be closed on Christmas Day (25 December). For specific opening times during the holiday period, please visit Council’s website: www.blandshire.nsw.gov.au.

Sewer Emergencies
For sewer emergencies during the holiday period, please contact the after-hours emergency service on 0418 402 350.

Children’s Services Unit
The Bland Shire Children’s Services Unit will be closed from 3:00pm on Friday, 20 December 2024 and will reopen on Monday, 6 January 2025 at 8:30am. Specific closures for individual services are as follows:

• Bland Preschool: Preschool classes will cease from 3:00pm on Friday, 20 December 2024 and will resume on Friday, 31 January 2025 at 8:30am.
• Mobile Resources Unit:
  • Toy Library will be closed from Friday, 20 December 2024 and will reopen on Monday, 20 January 2025.
  • Playgroup: 2024 sessions will end on Monday, 16 December 2024, with 2025 sessions resuming on Monday, 10 February 2025.
  • Ungarie Preschool: Classes will cease from 3:00pm on Thursday, 19 December 2024 and resume on Tuesday, 11 February 2025.
  • ITAV Sessions will close on Monday, 16 December 2024, and resume on Monday, 10 February 2025.

Bland Community Care Services
The Bland Community Care Services office will be closed from 3:00pm on Friday, 20 December 2024 and will reopen at 8:30am on Monday, 6 January 2025. For urgent service-related enquiries, please contact the Team Leader on 0439 720 883.

• Homecare services will be closed on Public Holidays, including Wednesday, 25 December, Thursday, 26 December, and Wednesday, 1 January 2025.

Ranger Services
Council will have a limited on-call Ranger service available over the Christmas shutdown. There will be Ranger on call for emergencies only. Emergencies are stock on the road or dog attacks.

There is no drop off box available. We will be unable to accept surrenders over the Christmas break.

Garbage Collection
Domestic and trade waste collections will continue as normal over the Christmas and New Year period. Residents are reminded to place their bins on the kerb the night before collection.

Landfill Operating Hours
The following landfill sites will operate during the holiday period:

• West Wyalong Landfill
  Closed for lunch from 12:30pm to 1:30pm weekdays.
  Closing at 12noon on Friday 20 December.
• • Christmas & New Year Period: Closed on 25 and 26 December, and 1 January 2025.
  • Other Weekdays open 8am to 4pm. Weekends open 10am to 3pm

• Barmedman Landfill
  Open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30pm to 3:30pm, and Sundays from 12:30pm to 3:30pm. Closed on Public Holidays: 25 December, 26 December, and 1 January.
• Ungarie Landfill
  Open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:30pm to 3:30pm, and Sundays from 8:30am to 11:00am. Closed on Public Holidays: 25 December and 1 January.

• Mirrool Landfill
  Open on Saturdays from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
• Tallimba Landfill
  Open on Tuesdays from 9:00am to 3:00pm. Closed on Public Holidays: 25 and 26 December, and 1 January.
• Weethalle Landfill
  Open on Mondays from 12:30pm to 3:30pm. Closed on Public Holidays: 25 and 26 December, and 1 January.
