NSW Seniors Festival 2025 – Celebrating Seniors in Bland Shire!
Bland Shire is proud to announce its exciting line-up of events for the 2025 NSW Seniors Festival, with a series of activities designed to bring the community together, celebrate the contributions of our seniors, and offer valuable resources for life beyond retirement. The festival will kick off next week with a range of engaging events across the Shire, providing something for everyone!
Mornings, Melodies and Memories – Kickoff Event for 2025
• Where: Ungarie CWA Rooms, Ungarie
• When: Monday 3 March 2025
• Time: 10:30am – 12:00pm Start the festival with a special morning at the Ungarie CWA Rooms as we embrace the joys of our past and look ahead to the future with a relaxing and fun-filled gathering.
Bland Blokes Trip to Lake Cowal
• Where: Lake Cowal Conservation Centre
• When: Tuesday 4 March 2025
• Time: Bus departs from the Hospital Car Park at 9:00am Join the Bland Blokes for a scenic day trip to Lake Cowal. Enjoy the beauty of the lake, morning tea, and a delicious lunch by the water while soaking in the tranquil surroundings. Bookings are essential, so don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow community members.
Seniors Driving Safety Course & Mobility Scooter Safety Presentation
• Where: Youth Centre, 10 Shire Street, West Wyalong
• When: Thursday 6 March 2025
• Time: 10:00am, morning tea provided This informative session by Transport NSW will cover important topics such as driving safety for seniors, mobility scooter safety, and licencing information. Make sure to book your spot for this essential presentation to ensure safe travels for years to come.

• Time: 11:00am – 2:00pm The Community Expo will feature a range of informational resources to assist seniors as they navigate the transition into senior life. Don’t miss the chance to discover helpful services, programs, and opportunities for the years ahead.
Seniors Week Recognition Lunch and Entertainment
• Where: West Wyalong Sports Club
• When: Friday 14 March 2025
• Time: Doors open at 11:30am, lunch from 12:00pm Join us for a special celebration as we honor our local seniors with a free lunch, entertainment by Jamie Agius, and the announcement of the 2025 Seniors Recognition Award. It’s a fantastic way to end the festival with great food, music, and community spirit.
